Pickle pot for jewelry work

A pickle pot is essential for any non ferrous metalwork using heat. For a really good pickle pot, get an old Crock Pot. These things work great. They maintain the pickle at a good temperature, and have a handy glass cover (at least the old ones do - evidently newer ones have plastic). I've used both Sparex and nitric acid in mine with good results. Remember to keep all ferrous metal out of it.
